Fun in the sun!

It has been a beautiful week here in Minnesota. I blew up Zahra's pool on Monday and we've been in it everyday since. I think the high was somewhere around 94 on Monday...humidity was high too but I will take it. I love, love, love warm weather. Today is just perfect warm, sunny, with a little breeze. Me and Z are both battling a cold but that doesn't stop us from having some fun in the sun!

Anil is on a pretty easy rotation right now...unfortunately it changes on Saturday :( then we will be missing him for the next 2 months of ICU rotations. We were very lucky that he is on a good rotation right now. I've had some doctor appointments and tests this week where I can't take little Z so he was able to hang out with her at the clinic (Wow are we missing Amy this week!). No I am not pregnant....even thought we would like to be. We might have some trouble this time around the diagnoses of PCOS is looming over my head. I know what is meant to be will be and we are so thankful for our little girl Zahra. Plus Anil and I have always knew that we wanted to adopt, we might just do it sooner rather then later like we planned. We have always wanted children close together so they can grow up together, play, and be good friends. God is in control and we just need to trust him because he knows what is best for us.

Indian Wedding

After spending a couple nights in the Dells we drove down to Chicago for Pikul & Nimisha's wedding. It was mine & Zahra's first Indian wedding.
Hanging out with Grandpa Patel..look closely at her ankles Z's first paayal. She was also given some cute Indian outfits from a good friend but it was too big for this wedding...maybe next event!

The night before the wedding they had a Indian Dance called a garba. Zahra enjoyed watching it and would dance along with the music. It was so cute. It made me a bit sad that Anil didn't have a 'proper' Indian wedding but we tried and did the best we could considering the 'circumstances'.
Our friends Shilpa & Tesh
Being mischievous.
The night of the reception with Auntie Alpana. It was after 9pm here and Z was beyond tired.

Our first family vacation- The Kalahari!

We went on our first 'official' family vacation this last week. We spent 2 nights at the Kalahari in the Wisconsin Dells then spent 2 more nights in Chicago for an Indian wedding (posting on that to come soon). We had sooo much fun at the Kalahari! As you can see Zahra fit in well with the safari theme!!
Our first stop was of course the awesome indoor water park! They made little kids wear life jackets which I know is a good safety net BUT it was a pain. Zahra had a hard time moving around in it. Next time we are bringing our own that will actually fit her better.
Enjoying the water!
She of course..loved the swing!
Showing off her new teeth- she now has 6!
She loved the slides!
Next stop the indoor theme park! She was abit serious this day..taking it all in I guess.

Heading back to the water park!
We had a great room- it had a full kitchen, living room, and then a main bedroom. The first best thing about it was that it was off season + middle of the week= cheap! Then there was doors separating the living room to our bedroom- So Anil & I didn't have to got to bed at 8pm with Z every night. Instead Anil got his butt whipped in Scrabble and we got caught up on some movies!
